1998 Mitsubishi Montero Sport
The Mitsubishi Montero Sport was introduced to the market to supplement the bigger
Mitsubishi Montero. It is based on a smaller wheelbase and is more modern in style.

The 1998 Mitsubishi Montero Sport is a five-passenger SUV. There are two types
of engines supplying power to this vehicle, namely, 2.4 L four-cylinder 134-hp
engine, which is fitted to the base ES model; and the 3.0 L V6 173-hp engine,
mounted on the LS and XLS models, which come with two-wheel or four-wheel drive
options. All come with a 4-speed automatic transmission except for the Mitsubishi
Montero Sport LS 4WD and the ES trims that are equipped with 5-speed manual transmission.
Inside, there is plenty of leg and headroom, good enough for five passengers.
Outward visibility is good and the leather interior as well. Seats are very comfortable
and well-padded, giving you a pleasant drive as you head to your destination.
You will find a conventional Montero's truck interior. It is highlighted by a
large square dashboard that hold gauges in front of the driver, like speedometer,
tachometer, fuel level and water temperature gauges and warning lights. Accessibly
located at the center of the dash board are the stereo and heating, ventilation
and air conditioning controls. There is also the traditional multi-meter that
holds a compass, outside temperature, battery voltage and oil pressure readouts.
