The Mitsubishi Montero Sport is a 4-door, 5-passenger mid-size SUV, which is available in four level trims, namely, ES, LS, XLS and Limited. For 2004, the base and the top level trim, ES and Limited have been dropped but their features are included in the LS and XLS trims. The 2004 Mitsubishi Montero Sport is specially designed to match its practical attributes and off-road performance. It carries a distinct high-body low-top profile and has a smooth, rounded sleek design that makes it stylish yet tough. The oversized tires and wheel opening extensions highlight its body and roofline. Complementing the rugged looks are its truck chassis and reinforced suspension parts.

 

Standard for this year model is the more powerful 3.5 L 197-hp V6 engine, which was previously available only on the XLS. This engine replaced the 3.L 165-hp V6 engine of Mitsubishi Montero Sport LS. A 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive, rear-wheel or full-time 4-wheel drive system are available for the Mitsubishi Montero Sport models. Added features to the LS and XLS include 16-inch alloy wheels, new roof rails, side airbags, new interior fabrics and leather upholstery in the XLS trim.
