Mitsubishi Montero Sport offers a variety of trims to choose from, each model with its distinct features that are specially chosen to meet your needs and lifestyles. Compared to the bigger Montero, it is shorter and lower but still substantially spacious. The Mitsubishi Montero Sport XLS is higher level trim, which comes with more advanced parts and additional functional equipments compared to the base trim ES and the mid-level LS. It comes with standard eight-spoke alloy wheels and 16" all-season tires. Options for a two-wheel and four-wheel drive are available for this model. Both the 2WD and the 4WD come with color-keyed fender flares and other styling parts as well as a security system.

Powering this model is a 3.0L V6 165-hp engine. It is smooth and provides a responsive acceleration performance comparable to bigger SUV's potent engines. The XLS models are available in Touring package, which features power sunroof, a 210-watt Infinity Premium sound system, Platinum-finish interior, a limited-slip rear differential and additional tire pressure monitoring system. This year model boasts of an excellent forward visibility, good off-road performance and a seven-year, 100,000-mile pedestrian warranty.
